BIS Registration Process

Step-1
Documentation & Filling of application

The applicants must complete the online BIS registration application on the portal, submitting all requested documents along with the requisite fee in accordance with BIS schemes.

Step-2
Preliminary Inspection by BIS authority

Following the successful submission of the application, an official will conduct a preliminary inspection and verification at the manufacturing unit.

Step-3
Sample testing or Product testing

After the preliminary inspection or survey of the manufacturing unit, the officer will collect a sample of the product, which will then be sent to independent labs for testing purposes. Once the BIS licensing authority is content with the test report, a performance review report will be prepared to advance the further process.

Step-4
Issuance of BIS certification and Marking

Upon the completion of inspection and testing, the licensing authority will review the report. Based on the findings, the BIS certificate will be granted to the applicants.
